2027 is going to be another sensational year for Live Music at KENFEST.
Once again KENFEST will have a Full Band Stage (the HMV Empire Stage) and the Acoustic Stage. Music will take place Friday evening then on Saturday and Sunday afternoon and evening sessions.
In fact, 2027 will be our 5th Anniversary and we have something very special planned for this. We are currently reviewing the host of applications we have and for any bands interested in playing please contact rich@kenfest.co.uk.
KENFEST CALLING gives emerging artists and bands the opportunity to perform on a full professional stage, complete with high quality sound and production, for the chance to earn a place on the main KENFEST festival line up. The event is all about showcasing the very best local talent while championing live music across Coventry and Warwickshire. Previous winners include Macy O, who has gone on to launch a successful music career, Van Brookes, who is making waves in New Zealand with a stream of new releases, and exciting Kenilworth band KIZZYLIMBS, who delivered a sensational performance at KENFEST 2026.
The live performance is not the only benefit available to the winning artist or band. As well as performing in front of an audience of more than 1,000 people at KENFEST, the winners will enjoy a day at the renowned Woodbine Studios, recording one of their tracks with legendary producer John Rivers, whose credits include The Specials, Paul Weller and Ocean Colour Scene. Because we know how much hard work goes into creating great live music, our runners up will also receive a full day of rehearsal studio time.
New for 2027, KENFEST CALLING will feature two separate categories: Bands and Singer Songwriters. The Singer Songwriter category is open to solo performers and acoustic duos. The venues for each heat will be announced in due course. The winner of the Bands category will perform on the HMV Empire Stage at KENFEST, while the winner of the Singer Songwriter category will perform on the Acoustic Stage.
Applications for KENFEST CALLING 2027 are now open! To apply, click the Artist Sign Up button. We allow covers and originals or a mix. No backing tracks are permitted. We must have a link to a live performance to be considered. There are limited spaces so we will initially review all entries and contact all artists before 1 January 2027 to confirm if they have a place in a Calling Heat.

Yes, you can apply as a solo singer, but you must use instruments. We will not be accepting applications with backing tracks
We will be selecting the successful applications during the week starting 15th December.
4 heats will be on:

- 30th January
- 31st January
The final will be on 12th March at HMV Empire, Coventry.
Yes, we are accepting cover bands. We just ask that you stand out by putting your own spin on the covers and showcasing your originality and creativity.
No, there isn’t an age limit. We encourage artists of all ages to perform their hearts out on stage. We do ask that anyone aged 16 and under is accompanied by a responsible adult.

Besides enjoying a great night out with fellow music lovers, you’ll experience 5 fantastic bands showcasing their talents live on stage. You’ll also have the chance to vote for your favourite act or band, helping them advance to the final at The HMV Empire in Coventry.
Yes, but we would prefer it if people bought tickets in advance to make entry easier for everyone.
No, everyone with a ticket is welcome to attend the heats.
Yes, the age limit at the venue is 14+. All attendees under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
